About a week ago, Isabella and I had this conversation about the assistant teacher in her class.
Isabella: When "Mrs. A" wants us to sit down, she says, "Sit on your b-o-t-toms (bottoms).
Liz: Mrs. A sounds like a funny teacher!
Isabella: She's not funny. She's a very sensitive teacher!

Mike: Can I wear your dress?
Sienna: You can put on a girl helmet and wear it.
Liz: Wouldn't he look funny with his hairy legs?
Sienna: He could comb them!!!

On the way to take Sienna to school this morning, Isabella noticed the Senior Center for the first time.
Isabella: What is that school? (It kind of looks like an old-fashioned one room schoolhouse)
Liz: It's the Senior Center.
Isabella: Do people go there?
Liz: Yes, older people like Gigi go there and do activities.
Isabella: Like make their canes pretty?

More Good News
Elijah had another follow-up MRI today. It's been nine months since his diagnosis and surgery. There's still no sign of the tumor!!! We are so thankful!!!! He'll have another MRI in June. If everything looks good, he'll go back in six months after that.
All About Mama
I've seen this on Facebook a few times, and I thought that I'd give it a shot. I asked Isabella and Sienna some questions about me.

(S) I don't know. I love you, Sienna.
2. What is something that makes Mama happy?
(I) When we give you hugs and kisses.
(S) When I tell you that I love you.
3. What makes Mama sad?
(I) When Sienna bites and rips books. (She has only bitten and ripped books two or three times each in her whole life, but I take it very seriously!!)
(S) When you get hurt.
4. How does your mama make you laugh?
(I) By tickling us.
(S) When you tickle my foot. When you tickle me in the armpits.
5. What was your mama like as a child?
(I) You had blond hair like me. You walked to school. You kind of looked like me.
(S) Drinking your water. You acted like, "Waaa!" (pretending to be a baby)
6. How old is your mama?
(I) 33
(S) 3
7. How tall is your mama?
(I) Hmmm...I don't know!
(S) Let me measure you and see. Can I please have the measuring thing? You're 8 (feet-since she was holding a ruler) long.
8. What is her favorite thing to do?
(I) Play with us.
(S) Play Leapsters with me and look at the computer. You like to measure us.
9. What does your mama do when you're not around?
(I) Do the laundry and go grocery shopping.
(S) You watch shows without me.
10. If your mama becomes famous, what will it be for?
(I) You already got famous because you got a picture at the library (that was in a local newspaper).
(S) Hmmm...for the newspaper.
11. What is your mama really good at doing?
(I) Helping us doing certain things we don't really know about yet. Like riding my two-wheeler.
(S) Bowling
12. What is your mama not very good at doing?
(I) Um...stretching? (That's random!)
(S) Playing checkers. (I don't think that I've ever played checkers with Sienna.)
13. What does your mama do for her job?
(I) Watch us.
(S) Clean up.

(I) I don't know. You like your shamrock cookies on "Shamrocks Day".
(S) I don't know. Apples.

(I) When you win on Mario Kart and when you bowl and you're kind of like a Pro. (on Wii)

(I) One of those Wonder Twins-like when you dressed up with Aunt Katy. (I recently showed Isabella this picture from a super hero party that my roommates and I had in college. Katy happened to be visiting at the time and we dressed up like the Wonder Twins!)

St. Patrick's Day Fun!
Isabella had several of her kindergarten friends over today for a St. Patrick's Day party. (Why I decided to do this on my birthday, I'm not sure!!! They had lots of fun, though!)
Everyone decorated a rainbow headband.
While I cleaned up after the project and got the cookies ready, the kiddos played "Shamrock, Shamrock, Leprechaun" (aka Duck, Duck, Goose).
We did some face painting and cookie decorating. We also had green grapes and shamrock shakes from McDonald's. Isabella and John were the only ones who wanted to try the shakes!
How many shots does it take to get six kids to look at the camera and smile?!
When I taught preschool, we played a game called "What Time is it, Mr. Fox?" We changed it to "What Time is it, Mr. Leprechaun?" and this kept the kiddos busy for a while!
Sienna played at Lauren's while the big kids were here, but the girls came back and found our silly St. Patrick's Day accessories!

I had a very nice birthday celebration today!!! Since my birthday is on St. Patrick's Day, I have collected some funny accessories over the years. The girls seemed to like their silly shamrock headbands.
In addition to a delicious dinner at Bertucci's, I got some special homemade gifts from the girls. They both made cards, and Isabella made me a birthday crown and a cute leprechaun story on popsicle sticks.

Pre-St. Patrick's Day Cookie Decorating
In preparation for Isabella's and Sienna's friends coming over to decorate shamrock cookies this week, the girls helped me roll out and bake some sugar cookies.
Isabella is having a few kindergarten friends over tomorrow afternoon to decorate shamrock cookies and have a little St. Patrick's Day party. Since I didn't want Sienna to feel left out (and I wasn't brave enough to have a bunch of 3 and 4 year olds over at the same time), Sienna had Lauren over today.
The girls took the cookie decorating very seriously. First they tinted their frosting green with food coloring.
Then they went to town with various sprinkles.
Mmmm... the best part!
Sienna is ready to rock on St. Patrick's Day with her shamrock sunglasses!

Sticky, Sleepy, Smoky Saturday
Mike kept telling the girls that he would have a fire in the backyard so that they could roast marshmallows. Today was finally the day! He needed to burn some sticks anyways, so they made a little campfire out of it!
Two happy girls!!
Sienna took a break from the campfire to come inside and dress-up. Since she was Snow White, I pretended to be the witch disguised as the old lady. After eating my "poisoned" apple, she fell fast asleep!
Elijah (aka Prince Charming) tried to "bop" her awake to no avail!!!

After her long slumber, Snow White set up a tea party for the two of us. Lemons were the food of choice!

Meet "Waggy"
They just finished up a unit on dinosaurs in Sienna's preschool class. Today Sienna came home with a dinosaur egg (and her friend, Lauren). 
First Sienna tried to break it open with her hammer.
She gave it a few good whacks with no luck.
Then she resorted to using the plastic screwdriver. 
That did the trick!
It's a baby dinosaur!!
I asked Sienna if the dinosaur had a name, and without hesitation, she said, "Waggy!"
Sienna has always been quick to come up with names for her various animals. A few months ago, everything was named something like Mahas, Sha Sha or Rashash. She has a black bear named Freddy, a bunny named Rock Star, and a dog named Lovey. Now we have Waggy, the dinosaur!
Isabella also came up with interesting names for her baby dolls. She received several baby dolls when Sienna was born and Isabella was only two years old. They are named Baby Oprah, Baby Guinness and Baby Bulldog. Although Baby Oprah is white, Isabella knew the name since I watched Oprah on a fairly regular basis at that time. Those days are over! Baby Guinness is named after one of our former neighbors' dogs, Guinness and Dublin (not the beer!). Mike came up with the name Baby Bulldog for the last baby because she has a squished up face. He should have known that a name like that would stick!!

Quote of the Day
Sienna just cleaned up some yogurt that she dripped on the table, and she said, "There, you don't have to panic!" I asked her where she heard this, and she said that one of her teachers says this. Silly girl! Don't worry, I won't panic!
